This is the first full-length rack that I have seen that I like... It is also very cool that is can be shipped un-assembled (yay cost savings!).

We are using adjustable feet up front and very beefy mounts for the rear end. The weakest point is going to be the actual track in the roof (unavoidable unless you want to drill holes in your roof). The rack itself comes in around 50lbs fully assembled.

What material will the hardware be? I guess Stainless would be the best but we're still going to have corrosion between the dissimilar metals.

ok my man, i have a lot of questions. i can't wait to see ripcord again to really take a look at it in person.
am i understanding correctly that each of the cross bars are removable with a few nuts/bolts? so theoretically you could have just two longitudinal bars with those hand holds? it looks like the rack will come with 6 removable cross bars?
Can you show us how the awning is mounted? I see one of your rigs has an awning.
can you give us the dimensions of the cross bars? are they rectangular? i'm mostly wondering whether they are the same size to thule/yakima racks so that their boat or surfboard attachments, etc. can be used on your racks.
instead of a light bar, if i wanted to mount my round KC lights on it, is there a flat area in the front, behind the fairing, that i would be able to drill into to mount my lights?

Looks nice, and not too bad of a price but in CAN $ it's closer to a grand. I started building my own full length rack last month. I dislike the big tall baskets on the rear end of the roof on the stock cross bars, they sit wayyy too high and would never fit in my garage. Also it wastes the front half of the roof since I don't have a sunroof.
The only thing I don't like about the aftermarket racks that go full length is how they distribute weight on the front, usually with two feet. I just don't like the idea of two concentration points with weight pounding on that with every bump. Also I'd want something that is actually stuck to the front of the roof somehow, rather than cantilevered over. Maybe these fears are groundless, I don't know. I guess if it works it works, that's all that matters.
Instead I took two rack tracks from the wrecker and cut them about 18" long and put these down the front, to continue the existing tracks. The rack lays on these the whole length of the roof, following the contour. Right now those front tracks are held on with gorilla tape but I will put some 3M VHB double sided tape on there to hold them down tight. Also I will put one of the existing stock cross pieces that lay on the roof, across on the front just behind the wind faring under the front most cross piece of my rack. It will sit on there nicely and I'll adhere it all down with tape. That will give lots of area to distribute weight.
I was going to use rivnuts in new holes in the roof but someone pointed out that the roof is pretty thin and would probably just rip them out. I don't feel like ripping the headliner out to reinforce those holes from the inside so I'll go with 3M tape now. I can always add holes later if I want.
I have garage clearance issues if I lift the truck a few inches so mine had to be really low profile, it actually sticks up only 1.5" above the crest of the roof, this is quite a bit lower than the factory rack, and follows the roof's contour front to back. That might create some complications for attaching awnings or other things that need a straight piece, but it's steel and that's what welders are for!

Stainless grade 8, no corrosion on my last rack I ran for over a year, i dont see it being a problem.

Each bar is removable, for structural purposes I would run at least 4 cross bars. The awning bolts in through carriage bolts in the track.

The dimensions of the bars are 1"x2", I run my Yakima ski racks in the winter, had to file the plastic mounts a little to get a good fit but work totally fine after 2 minutes of filling.
Kc Lights would work totally fine, mount into the front crossbar.

Most awnings on the market come with their own mounts! Almost all mounts should work totally fine.

Just put in my order. Pretty excited for this thing. What's the typical processing time? You guys have stock or does it need to be cut first?
