Shift knob replacement

I'm thinking of changing my shift knob on my 07 4Runner Automatic. Question is how does one remove the current shift knob?

I tried twisting it and it would not go.

Twist harder! It will come.

Do you have the leather shift knob? If so, Id be interested in buying/trading for it. I have the Sport knob that came on my '07.

New to this forum...Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask.

I'm trying to find out the measurements on a shift knob for my 2004 SR5. I've ordered a knob and it is not threaded. I wanted to know if anyone else had measured with calipers (I don't have a set to do so myself) and where the best place to get a threaded insert would be?
