Shift Knob Tryouts

I've been looking for a leather shift knob to match my leather interior. It's a bit odd to see a car with leather seats but nothing else with leather. So, I found a couple shift knobs to try out.

First one is my OEM SR5 shift knob. It looks good, but I wanted something with leather. The second one is from a 2000 Lexus GS300. It's quite a bit smaller and doesn't quite fit right. The third one is from a 2004 Acura MDX. I really like this one, it's perforated leather and feels really nice. But, again, it's a bit smaller and sticks up a little too much.

I still think my OEM knob fits and looks better, but it doesn't hurt to try a few of them out. What do you think? Any suggestions?

Have you thought about the leather Limited shift knob? Seems like the logical choice.

Yup, but it's very difficult to find one that's in good condition and the price for a new one is just insane.

The second one is my choice. It looks realy nice. However if it doesn't fit right I would live orginal one.

Yeah, I've got my OEM knob on right now. I may have to look into getting it covered in leather.

All the knobs use the same design and just screw on, it's just the OEM knob is "deeper" and covers up the notch on the "stick".

Thanks for the suggestions!

I like the second knob because it reminds me of my Limited's. From the the picture, the notch on the stick doesn't seem to be too noticeable. I would use that until I found a cheap Limited knob, if you want it perfect. Goodluck.

Edit: I wonder how it would look if you got it covered in taupe leather.....that would be pretty unique.

I like the middle one but would also consider recovering the OEM and/or finding a cheap source on the limited knob.

I've got an SR5 and I have the leather shift knob, I guess it could be something they added in '04 to the SR5's, I dunno :dunno:

The leather shift knob came with the leather steering wheel with audio controls. I really wanted that option, but Toyota didn't send any of the ones equipped with them over here. :(

Luxury: I've still got the taupe door panels that I may just experiment with.

Yeah, I'm still looking for the factory shift knob, but just might spring for a new one.
