Shift linkage relocation

I recently got an A340E from a Tacoma. that has the shift linkage on the drivers side. I need to move it to the passengers side before installing it into my 2nd gen. I'm looking for info or a write up about removing the shifting control shaft and placing it in the way I need it. Thanks in advance for any help.

For what reason? It's a cable drive system you can have the cable cross over.

It maybe easier to find an earlier trans. I am cleaning out my garage and have the trans and hardware as I swapped a manual trans earlier in the year. Contact me I'll make you a smoking deal. I want my garage back and I have too much 2nd gen stuff.

you need an A340 from a second gen 4runner or 3rd gen pickup. we should have a few kicking around the shop in pretty good shape or you can source locally. but yeah the A340 changed a number of time through the years. the internals are the same but the case and shift mechanism as well as the transfer case mounting arrangement are different through the years.

Well I found the info, and I should be able to get it sorted out between the two trans. I have and a couple of new seals. If not, I'll be in touch again kc15842. Thanks guys
