Before attempting to adjustment the transmission selector arm I decided to first check with member's for advise, or suggestions.
Started off with an extremely loose auto shift selector. Came across the thread on the 'loose auto shifter fix', found issue was more with the bushings than with the grommet. Installed the shift assembly, now tight as the day I drove it off show room floor; both the transfer case 4x4 selector, and the transmission selector lever operate fine; however, unable to turn the ignition key to the off position, thus unable to remove the key. Suspect 'the fix' has taken the transmission levers out of adjustment, not by much; not sure if I should try adjusting by loosening the nut and bolt on the shifting lever that runs from the transmission gear selector arm at the passenger side of transmission to the shift lever; or if there's an adjustment at the transmission gear selector arm on the side of the transmission? Seems can not be out of adjustment by much; regardless, is this some thing I should be able to do, or should I take it in and have the shop adjust it?
Thank you, Dave
