Shifting from 3rd to 4th - Special thanks to this forum

It is with mixed emotions that I report to the group that I have made the move from 3rd generation to 4th generation, and have decided to sell my 2000 SR5 that I have owned since new.

While I love this truck, I felt a strong need to get into something with a little more room, power, safety, and capability, and I found a 2006 Limited V8 that I couldn't pass up.

I just want to express my appreciation for the vast amount of knowledge contained in this forum and the people who have contributed so much to it. I read way more than I posted, and while I haven't actually met anyone, I feel like I know many members because of how much I have learned. There are certainly many others, but in particular, [MENTION=66735]PitbullRescuer[/MENTION], [MENTION=57546]4-Ripcord[/MENTION], [MENTION=65101]BrianSD_42[/MENTION], [MENTION=63487]A.Wilson013[/MENTION], and [MENTION=46329]blcktpgsr[/MENTION] all provided invaluable insight and inspiration over the last few years.

I will certainly continue to lurk, and every now and then post when I have something to share. Thanks very much.

I didn't have them appraise it, but I would suspect somewhere around $3500. I knew, though, that if I traded it, it would go to auction and end up on some random used car lot, and that made me sad. I want to find someone who can appreciate it and take care of it.

Yeah I understand. I've just always heard they give really good money for trade ins. Whenever I've looked on their site the prices are, well, pricey so I figured that's how they give so much.

That's nice man. I would've been out of my 3rd Gen too for that. I've thought about letting my 740i go for a 4th Gen actually but can't bring myself to do it. Good luck with it. And thanks for the shout out.

Wow Tyson, that thing is nice. You will like having 4wd. The v8 is addicting. You can actually pass people now with ease.

How many miles BTW?

Knowing that you did a TB/H20 change on your 3rd gen, I think fellow forum member Black Cat, who has an 04 V8 and is an ASE Toyo tech in CA, did a write up on changing the belt and H20 pump on his, so you should be good to go when the time comes.

123k, believe it or not. It was spotless, inside, outside, and underneath. And yes, I crawled under it at CarMax. Because of the miles, I researched the crap out of it. 1 owner, serviced exclusively at a Toyota dealer in KC where it lived since original purchase, timing belt/water pump done fairly recently, no reported accidents or sketchy records...you get the idea. Other than the miles, you'd barely know it had been touched.

So hopefully the transmission doesn't fall out on the way to work one morning.
