Shin rubbing on center console

Took the first long trip in 4Runner yesterday and something showed up that would not matter on test drives. After 3-4 hours I was getting tired of the pressure of my shin (right leg) on the center console. I played with the seat a few times and never got a truly comfortable position with the legs and arms for extended driving. It would help greatly if the steering wheel came out another inch or so. Anyone else have this and does anyone have any suggestions...

Maybe try yoga to improve your overall flexibility? Meditation to help your mind deal with minor discomfort? I don't know what else to suggest. I'm 6'5". Welcome to my life in any vehicle.

try raising or lowering the seat

i keep my right leg bent so i can hold the wheel comfortably and i stretch the left leg straight up on top of the dead pedal. on long stretches i use cruise control periodically to stretch out my right leg. i also raise and lower the seat on long drives, it changes the knee angle and keeps it from getting stiff.

i can't explain how i sit but my leg is not resting on the center console and i'm 6'3." I'm not completely comfortable, but its usually not enough to bother me.

Move. Your. Leg.

Maybe lose a few pounds.

Those are my suggestions.

If you can't sell the car or arrange for someone to steal it, your only option is to rip out the center console.

I find his position a lot more comfortable. I am able to fully recline in the seat.

well I have read much about this issue you have from other owners. the seats and the design is for the little people. small feet and azz. big hands causes other problems LOL...

I am smaller than the average American 5-10 and 170 lbs. I got a seat cushion which is soft and also put a foam cushion on the seat back . before I made my 1500mile trip 700 mi / day. it worked for me pretty good I had no issues with any discomfort. trouble today with these new vehicles most all is , the seats do suck. a vehicle made in the 1990's was good. the 1983 I had , it was like driving sitting in a leather couch.

so I say buy some seat cushions and this may help .

if you are a very big guy best sell it . some have had knees whack the dash also.
