I bought some used tires on eBay. They are located in TX and I'm in PA. UPS wants over $80 PER tire to ship them ground. I figured freight shipping would be cheaper since you can strap them to a pallet. Does anyone have recent experience shipping used tires via a freight service? They guy I bought them from was just quoted $250 to ship via freight. Sound reasonable?

Honestly, yeah that sounds about right which is why most good deals in the classifieds sit so long.
Ive used greyhound before and it was cheaper.
Hi, I can help.... Last week I just purchased 4 tires and rims from a seller on ebay and they shipped them freight for about $100 total shipping cost.... the only thing is I had them shipped to a business to get that rate, if they ship to your house it is around $75 extra on top of that..... So freight is the way to go..

sounds about right, freight shipping is pricey no matter how you slice it. you might check with greyhound (package express) and see about shipping maybe 2 tires bundled together, two packages??

The price was very fair on the tires. I couldn't wait for another set to show up as these are a pretty rare tire. They are Super Swamper LTB's in size 31x11.5x16. They are goin on a farm truck. These aggressive tires are more commonly seen in larger sizes. It's rare to find them in a small size like this
