Shock length question

Hey guys,

I'm planning on lifting my '08 SR5 4x4 V6 in the near future and have some questions. I am looking to gain 2.5" of height in the front and around 2" in the rear. I bought some FJ springs (on their way) from a member here. What spacers (if any) will give me that amout of lift? I was thinking a 1.25" in the front and 1.5" in the rear. Is that too much for the height I was looking for? As for shocks, I was going to use Bilstein HD shocks. My question is, the shock #'s are the same front and rear for FJ and 4runner but they also list a 2" longer rear shock for the FJ to use with lift kits. Do I need to use a longer shock in the rear? Anyone else use a longer shocks?

front lift gained is twice that of the spacer thickness, so a 1.25 thick spacer will give 2.5 in lift, the the fj spring yeilds 3/4-1in. so that will put u over the 2.5 u want. why not just use the fj springs with bilstein 5100s.? that will put ya where u want & still leave room for front adjustment. Bilstein 5100 Front and Rear Shocks from Wheeler's Off-Road, Inc u will still need the 1.5 spacer for the rear tho.

If you're buying shocks, I'd highly recommend going with Bilstein 5100 adjustables. You can get the lift you want in the front with just those and FJ springs. Then all you'd need is a spacer in the rear and you'd be set. I think this would be a better combo, and several here have ran it.
