Shock/spring help

Well I posted this to ask help from the pros of the shocks and suspension to help me out. The shocks on my truck look pretty beat up. I'm looking at shocks from bilstein but I'm not sure which ones. I want to improve the handling so I'm thinking of getting the yellow and blue ones. on the other hand the chrome one (5100) are adjustable from I have read. I don't want to lift the truck at all but I was thinking with the 5100's I could lift it when I want to go off-roading and then return it back to factory ride height when I wanna have fun on the street. My question is in order to adjust the 5100 do I have to take it apart or is there a knob on the body to adjust it? second is the springs I really don't want to lift it but I have been reading that the FJ springs are stiffer and therefore offer better handling. so how much would the FJ springs lift the truck? the last question I have is where is the best place to get these parts? I heard that people with FJ's literally give them away but I don't know where any help is appreciated:hatsoff:. Oh and I'm looking to replace both front and rear

The only opportunity to adjust the height is when the are apart. second is the springs I really don't want to lift it but I have been reading that the FJ springs are stiffer and therefore offer better handling. True.. so how much would the FJ springs lift the truck? Not much... Unless your springs are really sacked out it's about .5"-.75" in the front (V8 or V6). Just under .5" in the rear is typical. the last question I have is where is the best place to get these parts? Check Ebay, Craigslist and look for forums just like this that cater to the FJC. Check the classified sections there. I heard that people with FJ's literally give them away Sort of but I think they are getting a little more expensive. It's supply & demand. Us 4Runner guys have the demand jacked up a bit.:D but I don't know where any help is appreciated:hatsoff:. Oh and I'm looking to replace both front and rear

Thanks CJ3Flyr! What about those red/blue FJ bilstein shocks? I went on a couple of FJ/tacoma websites and saw a abundance of shocks and springs for sell. sadly not giving away though, oh well. I'll keep looking out for some good deals

I don't know much about the red/blue OE Bilsteins other than a few have used them with no complaints. If I understand correctly they are Bilsteins valved to Toyota specs and there is no 100% equivalent in the aftermarket. I may be wrong on that but I'm pretty sure that's how it is...
