Hey guys, I searched and can't find any info on recommended shocks and struts for my 98 runner, I'm thinking on replacing all 4 and I'm looking for some that are not too expensive but yet will deliver a smoother ride, I do a lot of freeway driving and I'm not looking to lift it, what brands, models and where to get them from??? Thanks for the help in advance.

For stock replacement shocks, the same brands that make shocks for any car/truck will do (Monroe, Rancho, KYB, etc..). You can get the same shocks that came stock on your truck which are made by Tokico and they also offer an "off road version" called the Trekmasters.

Monroe makes "Quick Struts" for the front. These come pre-assembled with a new stock height coil also:

You might want to go with something like this because the fronts are a pain to disassemble and most places will charge you $50-80 just to put your old coils on the new shocks (not counting installing them in the truck).

I just replaced all 4 with Bilsteins. I like them, I've used them on other vehicles, never disappointed. I got all 4 on sale from AJ USA, $285 shipped.
