Shocks/Stuts replacement on my T4R and X-REAS??

So I was searching on ebay for a complete kit for shocks and struts and I found this: FJ 07-12 & 4Runner 03-13 W/O Air Leveling Front Spring Struts and Rear Shocks

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but I really don't know anything about auto parts or or vehicles for that matter.

My question is this: If I have the above shocks/stut kit installed on my 2003 4Runner (4.0L) SR5 4x4, will the X-REAS System be a problem? Would I be better off going with a stock set? If so, what is a good brand?

if you buy any aftermarket shocks/struts, you are REPLACING xreas

but to answer your question, no there will not be a problem to install any shocks/struts that are designed for your 4runner...what you cant do is install just the front or just the rear shocks and keep xreas...

you can buy a new factory toyota xreas system but its pretty expensive and most people install aftermarket parts that work very well, any many would say better for much less money

Honestly just take out XREAS and replace it with new coils and shocks. Your XREAS is probably about to go out soon anyway. I replaced my XREAS and it honestly handles better than it did with XREAS. you can see my lift in my sig. that lift you are looking at with completely replace the XREAS system.

That kit you are looking at looks cheap and I would not recommend buying it.

NO, I am sorry, but this is FALSE! Respectfully, on an XREAS system, ALL of the shocks are hydraulically linked. If you remove just ONE shock, the entire system is compromised. So, no, you CANNOT "keep XREAS" by changing out any of the OEM XREAS shocks with aftermarkets. It's one or the other. Period.

tucktuck8, however, is correct. Just completely remove the XREAS hydraulic shock system and replace with aftermarkets and you will be fine. It is simply not financially feasible to replace an old XREAS system with new XREAS.

well i may have worded it poorly but thats the point i was trying to make- that you cannot mix n match suspension w xreas in any way- i said front and back because thats how people usually will swap out shocks...i didnt want the OP to think he could keep xreas on the back and install new shocks on the front or vice versa
