At work I was given a Go Rhino Grill Guard that came with a pair of lights.

A few days after christmas i was driving home from my girlfriends house when i hit some black ice going up a small hill, i was in 2wd and the rear end slid out and got away from me. i crushed the front end into a protective fence guarding a gas meter. 40MPH : 0MPH instantly looks like this.

After the repair tech explaining to my dad that if it wasnt for the brush guard, this thing would have been totaled. He decided to put another one on the front end.

In 2003 My dad bought a 03 limited that has every option on it besides the navigation system. this is the only real picture of them together.

Then again in June of 2009 my father bought a 2000 Limited, this is the vehicle that I am currently driving.
From this site I had learned the things that are desired in the 3rd Gen 4Runner and i had pointed him towards these options:
• Limited Trim Model
• 5 Spoke Factory Wheels.
• Factory Rear Locker

Because of what I did to the 96 with the K&N, my father also added to the new 2000.

In 2011 I had Returned home from serving a 2 year mission on the Indian reservations in Arizona and this became my DD.
The first thing that i did when i got home was installed a sterio in it as well as my sub woofers that had been sitting in the garage.
IMG_0058.jpg~original

I also put in a touch screen with all new speakers

A few months later I purchased a brush guard that i had found on craigslist.

I spent WAY too much money on the trunk!!! Kicker L7 12"

IMG_2758.jpg~original

To help hide everything I had inside I went with a full 20% tent all the way around. If i were to advise someone that was going to use the Walmart tint like i did, i would say don't, it only last about a year before it starts to turn purple. I would recommenced that you have it professionally done with a lifetime warranty.

While away at college and having limited tools I wanted to replace my burned out bulbs and update the look of the dash. Best improvement mod i would have to say I have done.

lol, im only 30 myself but have become "team mechanic" for the group i ride with, who are much older. they are into vintage trials bikes so ive had the "privledge" of being elbow deep in a vintage Montesa or two. do you ever go to Barber Motorsports park vintage festival?

No i haven't been to alabama for that one yet. i went to mid ohio this summer. its where i picked up my red bike for only $600. since your in FL i imagine you wont go to mid ohio, but barbers is a lot closer to you.

Alright a few updates. I bought a metal square shovel to help me dig out of the snow if i ever get stuck, thought about mounting it on the roof but figured it would get trashed up there or maybe even stolen so i put it in the trunk. well this morning i was able to put it to some use digging out of the apartment and a friends car out. these snow drifts are bad. well going to be fun for me!

Nice runner! I can't tell but I'm guessing L7s in the back? Definitely not cheap but they make a ton of bass!

Also I love that yamaha and I'm sure I'd like your Mach. I had an 03 Mach before my runner. Not quite a classic but it sure was nice.

Thanks to Hoyal for hooking me up with some tail light guards. great addition to my whip.

I also did some work on my CB. trying to remove static while the rig was running. PS. Great place for a mag light!

Just a quick pic from tonight, went to the local cave to explore and have dinner in it. the 4Runner does great on the dirt roads but you cant go over 25 mph or the passengers will be bounced around like no other.

This summer expect a toy tec 3 inch lift. maybe some 7 wraps.

So i won the bid on some roofing material that is made of aluminum and asphalt.
the guy who sells it advertises it as sound deaden material. so i thought what the heck lets shop around and see what this stuff really is.
my reasoning to do this is that my 2 12" kicker L7 rattle this baby like a spray paint can. wanted to fix a few things...

well i decided to pull the trigger and watch/ bid on a few rolls of sound mat deadener to install in my rig.

Well i won a bid of 100 SQ/FT of mat for $66 shipped. get here 3 days earlier than expected so i now have plans for the weekend. the shipping weight said 37 lbs

Friday i spent a little over 2 hours doing just the driver side door (from opening tool box to closing). It took a little bit of time trying to figure out where i wanted to put the material, how to cut it, dealing with the swinging of the door, wind, lawn sprinklers, it was a mess. but i got it done.
my over all result of the door was that it feels heavier to close but has more of a thud when closing. (what i was looking for)

here are some pictures of the driver side door. the back trunk area i did Saturday. (today)

I took pictures of the places where i was going to lay the mat so that i could better find where the holes i needed to punch back out for the door panel later on.

I did the inside shell of the door as well. stating at the bottom working towards the top so that water would not build up, (like shingles on your roof)

So thats pretty much the door. These next few pictures are of the trunk. I mainly focused on the areas by the fuel door and the other side behind the storage compartment doubling up because these were the worst parts that made the most noise.

Its a simple, cut to size, Peel off backing, stick and rub into place. (i cut relief cuts in some areas to help with bending)

the final rear trunk space took about 3 and a half hours from start to finish. My overall result was that the side panels do not rattle at all anymore but now i noticed other parts of the car that rattle. Rear license plate and back hatch cover (doing this next) and the lower body cladding rattles on the door, FML idk how im going to keep that from making noise since its on the outside of the car.

I think i have used about half of the material thus far. The doors dont take up that much material, Im not going to do under the carpet yet because i dont want to tear the carpet out right now because this summer im going to take it out and power wash it when i get back home from school.

Alright so i got my family stickers to go on the back of my window (im thinking trunk side window)

but how should i arrange them?

PS i am not married and have no kids, thus the irony of the stickers.

Nice job with the roofing material. I really want to do that, but I haven't taken the time. Trucks looking good and the stickers would be sweet on the back and side windows.

total time on the mat i think ill have about 15 hours in it. Its a nice easy project to do like a few hours here and there while only having your ride down for an hour or two when you do a door at a time. it only took me like 3 -4 hours to do the back trunk area from start to finish and that was the longest.

Update. i also did the back hatch! WHAT AN IMPROVEMENT! its a total thud when i close it now. no more rattle from the back plastic, back license plate, or anywhere else. everyone needs to do this if they have any sort of system in their vehicle or for a nice ride. $66 is super cheep for this great mod!

Lifting it

So i picked up some coil overs from Final Lap in the classified section.

i am excited to install them and get things back running properly.

i noticed my lower strut mount on my driver side, is wearing out.
also my rear springs are not doing a thing. i have a 100lbs of subs back there and they cones just sit on the axle. making for a very stiff ride.

they springs are so bad that they even sit like this with an empty tank of gas.

SO here are my plans for lift.
Front: King Coil overs for the front with a diff drop from toytec.
Rear: Toyota super flex coils with LC shocks and a panhard bad drop bracket.
I am also going to be installing my 1.5 wheel spacers.
