Got some updates today.
Last night I started tearing the truck apart. Broke a Phillips bit on my impact drill in order to get my OH S**T handles off. When it broke it stripped the bolt so I had to drill the head off in order to get the handle off then I plan on grabbing it with vice grips. That blue lock tight was globed on those bolts.

Had the same thing happen on the passenger side of my 2000 SR5 Sport. Used a hardened drill bit and 5/32" screw extractor, and it was out in 5 min.

Vice grips might work, but with so little to grip (in my case) you might end up marring the interior. Suggesting the extractor method, since that might be less time and torture...

UPDATE! got everything wired up. fuses, relays, wires, lights. (KC) and switch.

i have to finish sound deadening the roof. install the lights on the roof and finish those wires. they are ran to the trunk and sitting on the interior of the roof.

in a few more days i should be 99 % done

Haven't peeked in here for a while - looks like quite the project... I didn't know the headliner came out in all one piece, that is interesting...

Keep it up, looking forward to seeing it finished! :yo:

Great looking 4runner and updates. I just bought a stock 99 4runner that looks like yours so will use your information to begin making mods on mine. Would like to see yours sometime when in KC.

So i got all my lights installed and wired. this has been a week long project. 3 of those days have been around 5 hours of working on it non stop to get this job done. altho i must say i am very very pleased how everything has turned out i am still not done.

Still have to finish the switches.

buy, install the front and rear lights.

Finish the wiring on the roof in wire loom and silicone some holes to prevent water problems.

but right now its derivable, if i turn these lights on it will surely piss people off! :lookout:

it's a car wash. You're looking up out of the sun roof at the ceiling of a building, my guess is car wash.

Ive started working on my switch plate for all my lights. I want them to be hidden when not being used and relatively east to get to.

So like ive said i am going to put them up in the compartment above the rear view mirror.

Here i have drawn up the sketch of how i want to place the lights and the dimensions and spacing between the lights. The overall length of the plate is 5.5" and each switch is about 1" wide so that leaves about 1/4 an inch on each side. I think its going to look good

This picture shows me tracing by measurements from my paper to my aluminum sheet im going to cut out. Im going to use the mill at school to cut the holes out then file the edges to get the corners.
