Shopping for a 4th gen - 08 SR5 - comments/concerns welcome

Hey everyone, after owning my 3rd gen T4R for a year now, just recently I've began looking for a 4th gen for my other half who wants something "a bit more modern and considerably less mileage than mine..."

So I came across this vehicle on Craigslist:

I'm requesting your expertise and comments regarding anything that you can see from the info provided that immediately jumps out, positive or negative... I did check out the vehicle service history on toyotaowners...

The mileage seems to be legit and I did not see anything concerning, except for a couple of things to note:

Two biggest concerns: 1. Has the timing belt been done. This is a $1000 service that was due at 90k. 2. Secondary air injection pump. If this is not broke, it will break. Good news is that there is a simple bypass kit as this feature is bs and not needed. Other this than that it looks pretty clean. Be prepared to replace calipers, rotors, and cv axels if this Haney have not yet been done. Lastly. Wheel bearings. They go bad after 100k.

I don't think the timing belt was done since it was not mentioned but I'll check for that for sure. Also, thanks for letting me know about the air injection pump, I'll definitely get Slyfox'es kit soon as I secure the vehicle.

Did you look up value on it? Seems a bit high to me. I got my 2006 roughly 4 years ago and only had 70k miles on it and I paid $16k.

Yes, it's true, a bit high but I believe I can talk them down a couple of G's when I bring up the timing belt needing done and the rust since it's a rust-belt vehicle, assuming it's got some although I haven't seen the belly as of yet. Planning on scanning for codes too in case they cleared them.

That would be sweet if true, although my research (limited) shows it's around $14.5K. Kelly Blue Book lists it's Fair Purchase Price at $13.5K. With that said, I don't think anyone on this forum would sell their 08 for $10K, if they did I'd be all over that! :naughty:

Right on, my zip is 68111 and I put Dealer instead of Private party so that might have contributed to the price difference... Also I think fair condition would be if the vehicle had some sort of mechanical problem and/or exterior issues like substantial dents or scratches but is derivable, I put Good condition, although according to the dealership it's in "excellent condition." lol

Hmm I always thought private party is worth more. But I don't know for sure.
