I'd drop all the american made stuff and add the Pathfinder, although ugly they are uber reliable. I got 300k out of my 97 Nissan before I got my 4R. Just my .02

I am not sure what price range you are looking at, but a 100 series LC is next on my list of cars. Get the timing belt / water pump done around 90k and you are good to go for another 90k. here are some samples.

MY OPINION OF THE CARS I'VE OWNED:

USED:95 TACOMA 4X4 4CYL. nly problem I had was I tore reverse slam out trying to slam 1rst/rev turnin 6000 rpm to get out of a mudhole and broke ther rear leafsprings due to having it 10' in the air several times. tough truck for sure.

USED:96 TACOMA 4X4 V6: lack of maintence here, blew a head gasket after driving over 100 mph for about an hr. best part, toyota fixed it for free at 90,000 miles under a recalL.

USED:97 TAHOE 4X4. NEW MOTOR ON MY CHECKBOOK AT 75,000 MI.

USED:99 CHEVY CLASSIC 4X4. NEW MOTOR AT 120,000 MI ON MY CHECKBOOK.

BOUGHT NEW:2002 CELICA GT. never a problem

BOUGHT NEW: 2004 CAMRY. DROVE TILL 80,000 AND NEVER A PROBLEM.

BOUGHT USED: 2005 YUKON DENALI. Owned for 6 months and the repair bills outweighed the payment of $250 every month. all kinds of electrical problems. on my checkbook. ALL UNDER 80,00 MILES.

CURRENT BOUGHT USED: 2007 4RUNNER. TRANNY GAVE OUT AT 40,000 MILES. TOYOTA REPLACED IT FOR ME AT NO CHARGE FOR THE SUM OF $3700.00. WARRANTY.

CURRENT BOUGHT USED. 97 CHEVY 4X4. AT 140,00 MI .NEW REAREND AT 80K MI., NEEDS IT AGAIN, STARTER, ALL SEALS LEAK ALL OVER. LIFTER TICK ON START UP, AND EVERYTHING UNDER THE FRONT, BALL JOINTS, PIMAN IDLER, TIERODS, CV AXLS, EVER DAY ITS SOMETING ELSE

CURRENT BOUGHT USED. 2002 DURAMAX HAD INJECTORS AND INJECTOR PUMP REPLACED AT 80K MI. LUCKILY CHEVY PAID FOR THIS ONE UNDER SOME RECALL. AT 120K MILES NOW AND NEED A WATER PUMP, REPLACE WINDOW MOTORS, A/C FAN SWITCH ONLY WORKS WIDE OPEN.

NO MATTER WHAT YOU CHOOSE, MAKE SURE ITS A TOYOTA. BEST CARS AND BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN MY OPINION.

Thanks for all of the opinions so far everyone. I now have a revised list, all toyota family of course. I don't know why I was even considering the gm stuff, especially after the 30k flawless miles I have had with my 07 Camry.

Anyhow, new list.
