short???

I have a 1991 4runner 3.0 and i was messing with the audio wires in the front console(the stock radio is gone and i was trying to wire in a newer one) and in the doing that i think i shorted something out because the lights on the doors that light up when you open the doors are'nt lighting up. And the roof lights are'nt working either.......please help

yeah, the constant (yellow wire on aftermarket harness) also runs off of the dome light fuse, and the wire is easily shorted out by touching anything with exposed metal attached to the car. The fuse is located in the fuse cluster under the hood, I ran into this problem too. It's clearly labeled which fuse it is! Hope this helps

Welcome man, the same exact thing happened to me when I was hooking up my aftermarket headunit, I forgot to watch that wire when I was snipping it, just some advice from a person who learned the hard way, ALWAYS unhook the battery when you're wiring stuff. I was frantically testing and pulling fuses until I found the one that did it. ugh an hour of my life gone. haha

yeah at first i had the negative cable off but i was running back and forth putting it on so i could see if the head unit was working but i got lazy and left it on.... ; (

Awesome!! Glad to hear it's all working!!!!! Yeah I used to do that all the time, but know I just wait till it's hooked up after spending too much money on fuses haha. Youre welcome man!!!
