Should I buy it? 1999 SR5 w/ 104k

I'm a tacoma crossover (they bought mine back - thanks toyota!) and I'm into the 4Runner. I'm leaning toward buying a 1999 with 104k on it - is $6500 steep? brand new front brakes (pads and rotors), trailer hitch, 4WD, etc. I live in Boston for what it's worth...

I was ready to buy it but now I'm suffering serious indecision.

That sounds like a really fair price provided the truck is in good condition. What model is it? V6?

Price sounds ok to me too. Try to figure out if the timing belt was done.

Timing hasn't been done... V6, pretty good condition, 1 owner, little rust on the back bumper, scratch on the hood...

I would offer less, arguing that the timing belt hasn't been done, but if you can't get much knocked off I'd probably still pick it up. Of course I had to drive 2 hours to get my 4Runner because they are kinda scarce around here, so you compromise a little at that point. It's a non-interference motor so while you should get the timing belt done as soon as you can afford it, you don't have to worry about valve clearances and destroying your motor in the event that it would break.

tell them youll by it for their asking price, only if they pay to get the timing bet replaced... it worked for us.....

might want to get a compression check and then negotiate down for the timing belt and water pump. always a good idea to get em done.
