Should I get Goodyear Ultra Terrain AT or Duratracs?

On my 2nd set of Duratracs, first set made it 70k miles. Not sure why everyone says wet traction is bad, I have no problems with them and I’m up in Seattle. I generally deflate them down to 32 psi in the winter so that does help.

This thread is old. But yeah, i agree. My newer Duratracs have been good in the rain, its part of the reason i bought them besides the NE snow and off road. They are also not what i would call noisy and they run smooth.

I guess ill see long term. But i over research everything and the Duratracs were by far the best well rounded tire for NE driving with snow and rain.

I think one of the big reasons we see some really wide differences in experience with all these AT tires is location and choosing the right rating (C,D,E).

I've had Duratracs on my Nissan Pathfinder for several years now. (Canadian winters). They're amazing in snow, okay-is in the rain. My reason for wanting to try KO2's on my 4Runner is because the Duratracts became intolerably noisy after a year or so, and they started to cup pretty wickedly. You could feel the back end bounce on the lugs while you creep up on a stop sign. They didn't wear right even though they were rotated every single oil change.

There's a problem with the alignment or worn suspension on your ride. The reason the tires get loud/ride rough is because they aren't wearing flat. Once they start feathering or cupping, rotating doesn't fix it, it just screws up the other 2 tires, also. A very little bit of the first pair will flatten out while on the back, but they'll never flatten out to right. It's a death spiral that ruins many tires. Rotating every 10k means consumers ruin more tires without fixing the problem. Then the tire companies are making more money.
