Should I keep my LC shocks?

I have a set of used LC springs and new OEM LC shocks but am starting to reconsider this setup in the rear. I think I'm going to only lift about 2"s all the way around now. Not a big fan of OME because I like a cushy factory ride so I'm thinking some spacers on top of new 99 springs would be good unless someone else has a better idea.

Should I get different shocks for the rear if only going with a 2" lift or will these be alright? I'm pretty sure I bought 91-92 LC shocks which I believe have a greater compressed length than the 95-97 LC shocks.

yes... if you are only going with a 2" lift you dont need that long of a shock. I bought some procomps es9000 that were pretty cheap and they are for 2.5" lift,

honestly, If I get some longer shocks like the lc ones, you could have my procomps for free if you want... they maybe have 20k on them.

wait, Im confused, you have OEM shocks and 91-92 LC shocks?? or you bought the OME shocks for an LC??

I have OEM LC shocks (91-92). There are atleast 2 different part numbers for LC shocks for the different years ranging from 91-97

Are you saying they won't work or I just wouldn't need them? I already have the shocks so if they work then I'll just hold on to them.

Im saying if you go to spacers (which I would not recommend) you don't need that long of a shock.

I just pmed you, keep the LC coils and shocks, go bigger. You are gonna wish you did.

Do you know the compressed length on those procomps or a part number?

I think this is the part #, when ordering i know you have to specify the amount of lift...

Spacers on the rear are completely legit. The effective spring rate does not change like it will on the fronts, so you wont change your ride. I'm really surprised more people don't use rear spacers actually.

I would not run LC shocks because they are very long, and there is a very good chance that your coil will fall out when under extension... I actually tried this with my OME coils. The LC shocks extend so far that I could pull the coil out without any force. I'd consider that a bigger problem than being over compressed, but that too would most likely be an issue.
