Should there me a TPMS in a 2022 ORP spare tire??

Thank you. Sounds like either a "new for 2023" feature like the heated steering wheel on Premium and above trims, or a Ltd Only feature.

only on the 20" rim models do spare tires have the TPMS. not a new feature on 2023s

So Sport and Limiteds? Do you know if it can be added to and Premiums? I am assuming I can pick up a sensor at Toyota parts dpt., but wonder if the head unit can be programmed to register the spare. Sport head units are probably the same as mine.

I bet the toyota dealer could do that. I would imagine the modules for TPMS are the same for all trims, just programmed to read 4 or 5 sensors. maybe a tire shop could do that for you, but you might need the toyota equipment

I couldn't find anything on Google search, but emailed Carista to see if their app can add a 5th sensor, since I already have the dongle and subscription.

Only the limited as far as I know and it's been like that for many years now. I'm going to say it isn't possible to add one to the TRD P because there isn't enough memory for it. I believe the dealer was asked before but I don't remember the thread.

Not enough memory in the head unit to recognize one more sensor?

The BCM which communicates it to the headunit. I believe it had something to do with the mall control programming taking up the needed memory.

it seems like it's possible for some trims other than the limited. Might need to bring it to the dealers though

I believe the Limited and Pro share the same head unit. But is there any difference in head units between the Ltd/Pro and Premium models, other than the JBL Audio? I dunno.

Weird, mine has it, but the switch is not where its easy to find. Kind of hidden lower and to the right a bit of the start switch.

I took my sales person word that it did not have the heated steering wheel - it does have it. Thanks for making me check.

My '22 Sport came with 5 identical 20"wheels/tires and the spare was equipped with a transmitter which shows on the display.
The fine print in the owners manual says that vehicles equipped with 20" wheels should rotate all 5 wheels which is probably why the spare was equipped with a transmitter. When I went in for my first service all this was news to the service writer but since I asked they did rotate all 5. The display has to be reset when the tires are rotated so it shows the correct positions which the dealer didn't do but it's outlined in the manual so I made it work.
Kind of hard to believe that I was the first service customer they had with 20" wheels who had read the manual.
