Should there me a TPMS in a 2022 ORP spare tire??

Bumping this thread.

Doing some digging on this topic as well and stumbled on the video below. According to this guy, it is possible for a dealer to reprogram a non-Limited trim so the 5th/spare tire would show up in the dash. It must be 2020 and above.

I'm highly considering doing this now.

Do you think Carista could be used to add the 5th tire?

If your spare has a steel wheel, then you probably can't add a sensor. If (like the Limited) the spare wheel matches the others, then it might be possible depending on programming etc. Could you buy another matching wheel to make it work? Maybe.... With a 2013 SR5, I have a TPMS light because my sensor batteries have well passed their lifespan of approx 7-8 years. It wasn't worth the $ to replace them. I don't even notice the light any more. It's easier to just check my tire pressure occasionally!

I added a spare wheel with sensor and brought it to the dealership for them to reprogram so the spare can show on the display.

I had to explain them what to do. They had no idea it was possible and at first they wouldn’t even want to try until I convinced them

I'm not sure. I'm not familiar with Carista. But as far as I know, this is a car software related. So in order to see the spare tire on the dashboard screen, the software in the car must be updated using Toyota's techstream tool.

I messed around with Carista and didn’t see any option for this in their app.
