Show me your leather/softex

One of the options I'm regretting on skimping when I bought my 4runner a few weeks ago that I really wanted is leather. I wanted a host of other things that I ended up with and I'm ultra stoked on my '13 trail but man I really want leather or softex. I drive 100 miles a day 5 days a week and the seats start to get a little itchy and irritating toward the end of my commute. I have searched and searched seat covers; katzkin, Clazzio, wet okole, I can't believe it's not leather....ya, haven't been impressed. I'm leaning on either trying to find someone to trade with and money on top on my end which will probably be impossible, reupholstering in leather or buying a full new leather or softex interior. I really like this pic I found of the gray and black. What input do you have on my options and if you have gray or gray and black leather/softex post up some pics of front and rear seats! Thanks!

If you don't like any of the aftermarket cover options, see if you have a Classic Soft Trim or other upholstery shop near you. Dealerships here often call in these guys to do a lot of the leather conversions on new cars before customers take delivery of them. The leather is often times a higher quality than some OEM's. It will also be less expensive as there is no dealer markup if you go to the shop directly.

I had softex before and cloth now.... for a reason. the softex felt like plastic and never really wore well. I am going Katzkin this time. I will say that my cloth seats a far more comfortable than the softex ever was.... but they look cheesy

I guess it's all personal taste.

I wanted a sunroof but declined on the Trail Premium because you have to
get Softex with that package and I just don't think they will hold up over the long haul.

Toyota makes an excellent fabric seat - my 3rd gen had 115K miles and the seats still looked new so it was a no brainer for me.

I'm in the same boat with my 13 SR5. I want leather but did not pay for it. But my dealer says they can get it done for about $1400. I am still looking for a cheaper place.

I have the TEP and really like the softex black seats, they look good and feel good.
I have leather in my Tahoe and loved it until the diver seat wore from sliding in and out. Now I put Wet Okoles in and they fit great and are quality covers.

^^ those look really good. Lots of mixed reviews on the softex. I'll have to find a dealer and go check it out myself. Is the "leather" in the limited T4R softex as well or is it a genuine leather? I really do think those katzkins look pretty good, I just don't want to spend 800 bucks on seat covers and be disappointed. I've seen good and bad pics of the high end covers. A lot probably has to do with the install too. I'm not so sure how well they would hold up with my big fat ass sliding in and out of them.

The leather in the Limited is real leather. I have the Softex and so far I like it, stays clean and easy to clean.

I have katskinz in mine and quality is great. Only thing i will şay is i don't like non-heated in the winter. Luckily in N TX the winters are short. Lol.

Its true the installer has a lot to do with the fit and finish of the install. I've put about 4200 miles on them so far and they still look fresh from the install, but I'm a mere 160 lb dude sliding around in the seat.

If you don't mind me asking, who installed them and what area of Texas are they in?

:worthless

There was another gentleman that had posted pics of his katzkins, I don't see the pics anymore?? Need more pics!!

Ok, you guys are slowly persuading me to consider the katzkins!!

I always opt for aftermarket leather and in my opinion the katzkins are way better than standard factory leather unless you are buying an ultra luxury car (Bentley, Ferrari, Aston Martin etc.). I can usually get Katskins installed for 1,100 out of the door (front, rear and console).
