Tailgate flew up, hit the top of the car shed, caught the rear wiper motor, and pulled the tailgate out. Messed up the structure on the inside. It's going to cost nation wide $1,679.59 for a whole new tailgate. You should have seen it on Facebook.

How did it open fast enough to cause any damage? Were you backing out of the garage/carport when it happened and it caught on it while you were moving?

christmas miracle

i got nothing 4runner related but i was hoping for a christmas miracle in the for of a toyota tech showing up at my doorstep to help me figure out the mistery of my non starting truck.

I had just put some 3 in one oil on the struts for the tailgate so that's why it opened so fast. And yes I was going about 4 or so MPH. It caught on the steel cross supports that hang down.

I didn't really get anything, except 3 days after christmas, nissanh gave me a good deal on a GM mirror with temperature/compass built in so I'm excited about that...

I did score some vehicle magnets at work that say "Ranger" on one and "Park" on the other......... :gun5:

No 4Runner related Christmas gifts. But we got a fun little snow storm yesterday. So my 7 year old and I went out to play with the 4Runner in the snow. We both had a blast. Best gift I could've asked for.

I got a set of 4xInnovations sliders. DOM w/ kickout + 1 extra leg per side to make 4 legs. Got them welded up one evening over the weekend, so hopefully can get painted and welded on before this week is up. I'll post an after shot either here or maybe it's time to create a build thread....hmmm....

I bought myself a wire harness and dash kit for the free Pioneer radio that I pulled out of a total loss vehicle! I'm tired of having no CD player or AUX hookup. Will post pics when I get it installed hopefully this weekend.

Not exactly Christmas gift but.......I guess it could be a gift from me to me. First off bought my first 4runner at the end of nov and a couple days after Christmas picked up the toytec coilovers from sn0wrunner to replace the spacer lift up front.

nice , personally i don't like the rake, she looks nice and level now and i better she rides much better, plus nothing like a little bling in the wheel well to make ya feel good!:bravo:

Thanks,and I hated the rake too. I wanted to do something soon and was trying to decide on front springs when these came up for sale. So luckily I was able to pick em up. I'm all now!!!
