He's absolutely adorable! I love nothing more then the look of an old dog. He has the sweetest face ever!

My dog Bentley (boxer). 13 years old and still kickin'

Two months ago he suffered from something called Vestibular Disorder and I also think he had a stroke at the same time. A nerve on the left side of his brain went a bit weird and his eyes started tracking uncontrollably left to right. It's basically like having the spins when your really drunk, except he had it for 2 weeks straight. Had to nurse him back to health and now he's doing great. The left side of his face is pretty paralyzed so I'm having to keep his left eye lubricated, though he can still see out of it, he can't blink. Also, his left nostril needs boogers cleaned out of it every couple days LOL but nothing seems to bother him and he still plays and sprints up and down the driveway!

But after this Vestibular Disorder/Stroke his head seems a little caved in now hahaha as you can tell... After all that happened I was like, "Bentley, did you lose some of your brain?!"

So far he's been an awesome dog, when he gets situated in the truck he falls asleep in the back seat, lol or spends the time letting his ears flap in the wind out one of the windows

Took mine in today for her 3 month shot, she is still getting used to riding in the car, she has to be on my lap, she's a bit scared.

Thank you, his 1 year and 10 days younger then my 3 year old. Imagine wrenching with the lab and 3 year old at my side at :the same time...no dull moments in my life

That's funny, I actually have a picture of my son (now 8) in a little bouncy seat, dead asleep, while I was installing exhaust on my last pickup. I'm using air tools and everything and he's just crashed!

The blue dog in the dodge. He grew up his entire life around 2nd gen dodge diesel trucks, if one drives by his ears perk right up, and he starts looking for it. He knows the sound of the fed x and the UPS truck, he is a diesel dog at heart.

What a beautiful dog! I've only been around a great dane a couple of times, but they are such great dogs it seems.

That's pretty old for a really big dog like that isn't it?

Off topic, but speaking of old dogs. My neighbors have a dog that is 18 freaking years old! And it's still in pretty good shape! It's just some little black mutt, but seriously, 18!

It is old for a Dane. 6-8 years is the average lifespan for one. We just treat every single day as if it may be his last. I hug and kiss him all the time. Never know when Gods going to take him away.
He's had a lot of health issues as well, so that adds to it. Right now though he's doing great and he's super happy!

18 is super old for a dog but you know they say that mutts seem to live a lot longer than these purebred dogs. Makes you wonder what condition it's in. Can it hear/see? I've yet to have a dog live past 10, but they've all been large/giant breeds and purebred so I'm sure that's contributed to their shorter lifespan.
Kills me!... but I'd never be without a dog!

Well, that's cool that he's doing well. And yeah, at this point, you just do what you can and enjoy the time and spoil them.

You know, the 18 year old dog is in pretty good shape, I think she sees fine, but is a bit hard of hearing, but gets around just fine. She's pretty funny.
