I miss you Max.

I came home from work friday and found my boy in bad shape. I rushed him to the ER only to be told his insides let go and his belly filled up with blood. I had no choice but to put him down. I hadnt cried like that since my dad died when I was 18yr. Max was my first dog and we had a tight bond, I took him everywhere. Here are a few pics of him growing up. I miss you Max, cant wait to see you in Heaven. RIP August 2002 - April 2013.

Man, I'm terribly sorry to hear that, putting a dog down is one of the hardest things to do, but at such a young age, it has to be much harder. I'm really sorry to hear that about your pup.

My deepest condolences to you and your family. Take comfort in knowing that he lived a good life. You were blessed to have him in your life as he was that you were in his.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. He died on a friday night, I had to go to work saturday and when I came home I pretty much lost it. I sat in my truck for a little while, I didnt want to go in knowing that he wouldnt be there. I'll see him again one day, I truley believe that and for that I take comfort.
Love your dogs, for they love you more than we will ever know.

This just tops it off...

So after going to the Vet's office I come home and find this post right off the top. So the story goes- Two weeks ago I rescued a Boxer some of you might have seen the post as the best accessory. Anyhow, tonight as I'm making dinner said Boxer decides that chewing his toy is not good enough he has to kill it and eat it (all of it, squeakers and all, the stuffing-less ones that are about 12in long). Rushed him to the Emergency Vet and withing ten minutes it was out along with all of his dinner. OP- thanks for making my crappy doggie day better when seeing this after today. Here is the Boy

Destroying toys is fine but eating them whole is another thing all together. I'm just glad I caught him doing it because if not it is an easy 4k vet bill to cut it out of the intestine track. One of our Dogs at work eat a Kong ball and have to be flown to Germany for this same issue. Got to love Pets...

It's rare to see a prong collar placed correctly! So many misplace them on the dogs neck. Beautiful dog!

Thanks so much for the kind words, and you are right about the prong. We have police handlers that don't know how to fit them. Make me crazy and ends up causing lacerations on the dog's neck instead of a pinch. I like the prongs - "power steering for dogs"
