Is that a purebread Belgian Malnois? The face is much darker, but the body coloring is a dead ringer for my dog, which I had assumed was a husky cross of some sort based on the markings. We got her from the rescue as a pup, and were told she was a shepherd cross.

No sir, she is a German Shepherd from an East German blood line. Her mother was purchased from my breeder, bred, in Germany and imported while pregnant. Her litter was the first for this female state side. My breeder is a fantastic lady and has some wonderful dogs!

Very interesting, I saw the dark face and assumed BM. Your dog looks about the same size as mine, around 50lbs? I guess there is a good chance the GSD cross is more accurate than I thought.

So I didn't even know this thread existed till the evening. Here are my two German Shorthairs, Gunner (the brown one) is almost 2, and Echo (the black one) is almost 1. Last two summers of puppy has been eventful but now it's all worth it..and we essentially bought our 4R for them since they go everywhere with us.
