Our new addition, Diesel the Black and Tan Coonhound
love the coonhound pup... not a pup anymore thou huh? have seen many of them in my day!! (i'm a coonhunter by nite) and he's got his nose on the ground... good dog!

Drivin home we made our way thru some timber and came across a raccoon; Bear (my jagdterrier) jumped out of the truck to go after it and she broke her leg. She kept after the coon, ran it up a tree and then she just sat there holding her leg up and we realized she had broke her leg.
We went thru about 6 months of "casts" but it never healed properly; she had damaged too many of the major arteries around the break. So I made the decision to have the leg removed. She is back to her normal self; and it is awesome!! Hunts just as good as she did before but she needs a hunting partner or two.

New Puppy...
We lost Leo back over the Memorial Day weekend (the Big Black Doggie in some of my pics)...same weekend had the disaster with the UCA installation...what a miserable memorial day weekend. Though having the UCAs to work on I think helped a bit with the loss of the dog. Anyway...
Adopted a new puppy this weekend from the LA County Pound/Carson Shelter. He was a stray. Someone said they were going to adopt him and so he was fixed and chipped and they didn't show up to adopt him. He was the last dog I saw in the last kennel. I almost didn't walk down the outside of the far end...saw him and he seemed great! Went back Saturday and rescued him...so far he is doing well. We took the golden (Piper) and him to the RB dog park Sunday and he did great!
His first visit to the vet was tonight. He was well behaved and is learning fast...I still miss Leo...but now at least Piper has a buddy to play with again.
Here are a few pics of him...oh yeah he is obviously a mutt. The shelter said he was husky and aus shepard mix. The husky blue eyes are definitely there, but there may be some german shepard and could be some pitt bull....but not really totally sure what else is there but we do know he is a really well behaved and "relatively" calm dog for a new puppy. Can't wait to get this dude fully potty trained and take him on some outdoor trips, camping and wheeling!
