Show us your rack!

I just put a Rage Powersports basket on mine. Looks just like SilverBullet's. Its perfect size for throwing all my camping stuff up there.

Stupid thing makes a lot of friggin noise though. Even with the deflector.

Naked Gen 3

Just picked up 1997 SR5 with no racks...I want to install used factory racks from the wreckers and build a custom basket. Anyone have any ideas how factory racks come off? And will they attach to my naked roof?

thats what a stereo system is for :bravo:

I just mounted a rage powersports basket. I really don't think the noise is that bad...w/ the sunroof open can't even hear it...w/ it closed, doesn't sound as bad as my ski rack did. I don't have the fairing and don't plan on getting one b/c the noise is very much tolerable.

So i'm having a hard time deciding which Baja Rack to go with. I've been looking at the T4R 4Gen model Baja Rack Just have a few questions regarding it.

Mounting, i cant seem to get a full breakdown, but it seems like it mounts in place of the Rail system?

Visibility, does this completely envelop your sunroof? And does it block you from getting full use of the sunroof?

Pricing, found some decent prices online, but i'm just not sure if i should consider the Mule over the 4gen specific model. And is there anywhere out there that doesnt charge 150 bucks Shipping and Handling?

My offroading is usually driving on the beach, and this will help with fishing gear/Beach gear and giving us some much needed room.

1) Yes it mounts in the same holes the factory rack mounts.

2) No sunroof, so not sure.

3) I would definitely get the 4th Gen model over the Mule. The mule looks very small on our trucks and relies on the factory rack and its strength, which is far less than the 4th Gen model.

I pulled the trigger, ordered from trdparts since they had 1 left in stock. BajaRacks.com said they weren't going to get another production run until 6/28. Went Fullsize special 4th Gen model. Should be 5-9 days hopefully, cant wait to get this thing setup. Next up is a slight lift, new rims/wheels and i should be set. Thanks to the site here helping me find the right dealers, and some reviews that came in helpful.

So, which one did you get? I want to order one as well and would like to have in by the time I get back home. I hope that takes less than 3 weeks. Did you get a Bajarack from TRDparts?

BlairB, it looks to me that the BajaRack goes from above the front passengers all the way to the rear cargo area. I don't have a sunroof so that is fine with me. My only question, since you have the setup I am about to buy, does the rear hatch still open all the way? Is the clearance OK? I'm sure they thought of this...just asking.

I am ready to buy this thing, I hope BajaRacks has one in stock!! :naughty:

Finally pulled the trigger on a BajaRack

Finally went ahead and ordered a BajaRack on Thursday. Got lucky cause the guy I talked to said that they have been averaging 2 to 4 weeks for delivery, but they had just gotten some and mine will be here Tuesday. Wooohoooo. Wish I had ordered it on Monday so I would have had it for my trip to the lake tomorrow. At least I'll have it for the trip to CO next weekend.

PS- Ordered mine from the BajaRack website cause after I got the total from three different websites I saved $3 by going direct. FYI

I ended up getting the Gen 4 T4R model, had to do it. I did order from TRDParts, they had one left in stock, where BajaRack themselves didnt have any going into production until tomorrow is what i was quoted. They shipped via UPS Freight, and it took far longer than expected, problems with road closures and scheduling(all UPS's fault, TRD shipped next day and provided great service). I'm actually installing it in a few hours here, having a buddy come over since it looks to be much easier with two people lifting and installing. I'll post some pics once i get it setup, probably some beach picks around thursday/friday. The quality of this rack is amazing so far.

Got it on no problems. Just had a bit of difficulty figuring out how to get the plastic covers on the existing rack to come off. (There are tabs that lock them into place, and you have to just pop em off, get one and the rest follow suit). I threw a little silicone around where the bolts go in to be sure i dont get any water seepage, and we used the original bolts since i liked the rubber washers they had. The quality of this is off the charts, just loving it. Also like that its halfway over the moonroof. I was prepared to not like it for that, but for offroading it'll make a nice grip to hold on to, and noise surprising isnt an issue so long as the moonfroof is open all the way.
