As for the ARB, I just wish they fit the contours of the truck better. They are too...."blocky" or "square" to me.
I almost wish Blair's vote didn't get this badly destroyed by the "yes" because now I am looking at a $1,700 expense. Crap! :biggrin2:

I have the same debate going on. Even though the ARB is a legendary company, I find the shrockworks more appealing. I am on the envelope of ordering the shrockworks. The question for me is with hoops or no hoops. (Uneek, I have the same question)One can't get it with just the center hoop. I didn't realize 4-5wks. LONG WAIT!!!
Then I thought of getting the NFAB prerunner bar for the Tacoma and doing some minor fabrication since its a direct frame mount and the frames are virtually the same. I've been able to measure both frame rails and they very match closely.
Althought the ARB looks great on teampwr2 runner. What to do?
Hows install on both bumpers?

FYI - You can get the shrock with center hoop only. In addition, the wait will be much longer than 4-5 weeks. They've been running 12-16 weeks. Worth the wait in my opinion.

That may be part of what you meant, but not completely.

Most off road shops including the big boys like 4wpw, mail order ect are off like 50% from last year at this time.
Fabtech stopped 100% of prduction for 90 days !
Sales of oversize tires are off 70% from last year
As I am a member of SEMA , people are worried
and do not think this bumper company will be any differant.
The economy/gas prices have everything to do with it

I love my Shrockworks bumper. It was worth the wait. They just got it out to me in time before I went to AZ (May/June). [I installed it the weekend before we left for AZ] They knew I was going on a trip and they were really helpful with making sure everything was there for me to complete the install. (Well ok I did have a buddy help....those things are way heavy!)
If you are trying to decide on the ARB or the Shrockworks, they are basically going to do the same thing for you, right? However, if you are going to be spending 1500-1800 on a piece of steel you plan on keeping on the vehicle for 5+ years or way longer like many of us...then what is a few months for something you won't regret later. That being said if you prefer the ARB bumper go with that...but the guys at Shrockworks did build a great piece of steel! If you really prefer the Shrockworks bumper, then is the wait that bad?
If it is that urgent that you need the clearance in the front, you can always not worry about messing up the plastic bumper...especially if it is coming off anyway. Heck you could even trim the existing plastic bumper away from the wheel wells. Mine is still sitting around...haven't figured out what to do with it yet.
The downside is that while you can approach anything you won't be able to depart (w/o changing the rear bumper/tail pipe) haha....but I'm saving my money for that CBI bumper (unless Shrockworks finally makes a rear bumper to match while I'm saving) ... hopefully in another 3-6 months I can finally improve that departure angle!
