Shrockworks dual battery kit with air pump relocation, feedback?

Hi Keith,

I hope you're well! Great build so far! I'd like to install a dual battery system and the ARB dual air compressor (CKMTA12) in my 2016 Trail Premium. Is there a bracket that will enable the ARB dual air compressor to mount back near the firewall while still maintaining clearance underneath for the relocation of the air pump when installing an auxiliary or second battery via the Shrockworks dual battery tray and air pump re-locator?

Any word on if this is possible. I’m currently in the process of installing the 4X4Labs bracket for the dual ARB compressor and want to install dual batteries whil maintaining the driver side area near the firewall for an spod type system.

Thabks!

Check out their website. I am pretty sure they have a bracket thing that just bolts to the standard air relocation and then you mount your compressor.

It says a single will work, I am installing the dual compressor. I'm also curious if anyone knows if it will work with the 4x4 labs bracket and not Shrockworks because I already have that one on the way.

Also, is that price right? $258+58 for the relocation hardware? That seems really expensive but I don't know how extensive this project is.

Thanks!

Sounds right to me

Guys, saw this crop up and though I'd chime in since I've done it. I can't recommend enough the Shrockworks for Dual battery and Bandi bracket for ARB dual air compressor. This leaves room for other installations, like SPOD and other items you may want to install later on the driver side of the engine bay. It's a little pricey but it's the best configuration under the hood and will save you more hassle going another route.

I researched the heck out of it and thought through it for weeks before deciding what to do. To date, no issues and really loving the config!

Gotta say that your build is pretty impressive. Love how thoroughly planned out you have it. I'm trying to do the same with my '19 TRD Pro build. In your deliberations on the dual battery setup, did you consider the Genesis Offroad Dual Battery setup? Seems like it would be just a bit more space than stock and not require the relocation of the smog pump. What were/are your thoughts on this?

Thanks for sharing. To my knowledge that Genesis kit was not around when I researched for my rig. I have to admit, that’s a sweet kit! It looks really well done and a massive time saver to get to point B. Or should I say B2. I can’t recall for sure but vaguely remember the PC-1400 battery has a lot less cold cranking amps (CCA) compared to OEM Panasonic starter battery and its aftermarket replacement counterparts. That might be weak point in the system but worth researching further. The PC-1400 is a much smaller battery. The other thing I do prefer about the second battery on the passenger side is the weight distribution. Having 100+ lbs of battery plus the driver on that side does impact right turn handling a little bit and a little more driver side spring compression on offroad drop-offs but with a solid lift kit, should be minimally felt. Thanks for sharing. I’d seriously consider this kit if I were doing it over again. Great find!

I’m rocking shrockworks with Brandi mount for dual ARB compressor in a 2019. Got a 34M in the battery tray no issues. Mounted a Redarc DC to DC charger on top of the battery too. Solid well built product.
