Just installed my sliders this weekend and noticed the top of my passenger slider had a gauge in it, not huge but still down to the bare metal and already starting to rust. Going to try and contact Mark on Monday and see what he says.

I called and he had be send some photos and apologized for what happened and said the best thing to do is to take a can of Duplicolor and touch up the location of the scratch. Mine was a pretty small scratch but was on the top of the slider. Definitely disappointing to wait the 4 months for not something that arrived finished. I definitely understand though that this more than likely happened in packaging as this had to happen after the powdercoat. Just sucks and I will now have to take the time to grab some bondo to fill the deep scratch and go to the effort of fixing.

Outside of this, I love the look of the bumper and sliders. The car has done a wild transformation over the last month. They do a great job over at Schrockworks and have no intention of bashing them. Just is a bummer to go through that process and not end up with what you were expecting.

By the way, do you find the "bug deflector" useful? Does it really deflect bug smashes from your windshield?

I definitely understand though that this more than likely happened in packaging as this had to happen after the powdercoat. Just sucks and I will now have to take the time to grab some bondo to fill the deep scratch and go to the effort of fixing.

Outside of this, I love the look of the bumper and sliders. The car has done a wild transformation over the last month. They do a great job over at Schrockworks and have no intention of bashing them. Just is a bummer to go through that process and not end up with what you were expecting.

Do you have any pics of the condition of the shipping package/wrap when it came to you? (if the damage was caused by the shipper, they would pay for the damage)

Or pictures of the damage when you unwrap it and before you install it?

Personally, I take a lot of pictures when unbox'ing anything shipped in, the condition of the external container, the condition of the internal container (if applicable), the factory packaging materials, and the items. Shipping these heavy and/or high cost items are not cheap, and a lot of time, incurred some amount of "insurance cost". So, I hate to let the shipper get away for not taking the appropriate amount of care.

The box was in perfect condition when I received it. No dents in the box that is. Just have one general photo of them in the box. Really didnt give them a thorough inspection until I went to install. I live in a tiny apartment and it was a challenge just to get those inside, in the box. For what its worth this is the only photo I have of them in the box.

Definitely seems like adequate shipping protection, plus if the box come "perfect", then the damage wasn't caused during shipping.

Not sure too much about the bugs, I got it mainly to protect the hood from rock chips, plus I think it looks good

My problem is, I don't think it looks good, on my "silver" SR5.

So, is it effective in protecting your hood?

Well it protects the edge of it and a couple inches back. The edge is what gets chipped up the most.

Looks great and protects from chips. That's why I have one.

I have a nice nick, BUT mine is powder coated over...It is on the step plate, now that it is on truck not bad. For price, could of put another plate on there instead using IMO.

Well I guess it's more of a small scruff on the powdercoat, I don't think it even affected the metal. So either way I'm good, a little bit of permanent black marker and it goes away ;P

Everytime I see this thread bumped up I always think its that time to start ordering!

I'm actually pretty surprised this thread keeps getting bumped to the top. This thing ended six + months ago. I think someone else is doing another Shrockworks GB, though. Theyll probably do a better job than I did with this one, but at least I popped my cherry ha. I do hope everyone is enjoying their bumpers! I know I am!
