Love this bumper set up.just what i would want when i get a rear bumper.saving my lunch money now.LOL

I spent most of the evening dismantling the crate built around the pallet
the bumper was shipped on. The packaging was an amazing piece of work...LOL!!!

But the Bumper is beautiful.....

I have a 4 day weekend coming up so hopefully will have this installed soon.

I bought the Impact drill a couple months ago. It made this job a breeze..

Also, note the lack of any rust on the strap from the Tow Hitch.

I got the bumper installed on Saturday.. Big thanks to BFAD for coming over and helping.

Really nice work by ShrockWorks and very detailed/clear instructions for the installation.

Looks good. How thick are the 2 recovery points and how are the gaps between the bumper and the body?



Now you just need to get rid of that chrome.

The recovery points are just under 1/2" and very sturdy. The gaps between body and bumper are just right ample room where needed and perffect around the rear hatch.

I'm not going to waste time getting rid of the chrome. Just the fix/mod big stuff for now.

I don't have a build thread. I am the original owner and have slowly been modding since 2002. I spent most of the time over at YT and found T4R back in 2011 when searching for info on a new suspension.

Gotta keep up with the rest of the New Mexico Clan....

The recovery points pictured are 3/8" like in our front bumper for the same year model 4Runner/Tacoma's, but on our next run of these we've opted to go with 1" recovery points and make the tire carrier capable of carrying up to two Jerry Cans.

Meh... Looks better in person. :tongue1: I'm glad I was able to help, amigo. As I said before, it looks great, and compliments the ARB well. Your 4Runner is a fine example.

I'll agree that the instructions provided by ShrockWorks were very well done, and easy to follow. They threw a bunch of extra hardware in the bag, so we didn't end up short on any install items, and everything fit the way that it should. Having now installed both a CBI and a SW rear bumper, I can definitely say that the SW bumper is an easier installation.

Any chance the special is still available? I know I'm late to this party, but can't hurt to ask.

Also, what are typical lead times on a rear bumper with a spare carrier?
