Side Mirrors

Has anyone seen any replacement mirrors for the 04's? I don't really like them too much, toooo big. I have to look around it when I make a left turn.

Are you super short? I can't exactly imagine how it would be in the way on a left turn.

I absolutely love the size of the mirror. You can see so much, so easily. I assume the '03 and '04 are the same size. I drove a company car yesterday and it had about 1/4 the area........which only gave a partial view of what's next to the car.

I do agree, these mirrors are huge! To his defense, there is a blind side on the right side of the car. That's why I myself was interested in getting one of those fender mirrors.

Go to the store and pay $2 each for a pair of 2" convex mirrors. Put them on the bottom outside corner of the outside mirror. Eliminates blind spots on both sides.

Over the years, I have found this to be the best (and now always the first) mod I make to any vehicle.

haha.... well, yeah, I'm short 5'5". So when I turn left, I can't see medians or whatnot, all I see is this huge mirror. Guess I could put my seat way up...

You read my mind. You know when I checked out the 4th gen at an auto show, I didn't like the visibility out of the front window........so much that I discounted the 4runner all together. Then I thought that maybe the seat was just too high. So, I went to a dealer and sure enough it helped a ton. Still not quite the visibility I hoped for, but surely good enough and a vast improvement over my Mustang.

I have heard jharris2 talk about those little mirrors before, and he seems pretty confident on their value. I've never tried them, but I think I'll pick some up and give 'em a try. I'm definitely going to try and find some without a black rim.

Let's just put it this way -- they work well for me. When I travel and rent a car, I find that I really miss having them.

YMMV.
