A little background, 2004 4runner, no previous accidents or structural damage. I'm stationed in south GA so it's hot but nothing extreme. Not that this should matter but the 4runner is more of a family/weekend vehicle not our daily driver, nor do I take it offroad or through anything more extreme than the speed bumps on base.
Having said that I'm driving down the road last week and I hear a pop, I look over and there is a crack on my driver window going from the side mirror to the bottom center of the glass.
My first thought was the a/c was blowing on the hot window, nope that vent was pointed at me not the glass. The glass itself was not in direct sunlight and was only "warm" to the touch. My arm was not propped against the glass either which shouldn't matter even if I was forcibly pressing against the glass.
Fast forward to today and I get back from the grocery store and notice that my front passenger glass has the exact same crack.
Has anyone heard of this? My mind is going to structural failure of some sort but the truck is solid, no rust, no previous accidents, no cracks. Even if the frame were somehow collapsing I think I would notice it in the doors opening/closing before it got to the point of cracking glass.
