Sidesteps/Running Boards

How difficult is it to remove the side steps/running boards?

Mine are starting to get a little wobbly. They rattle going over bumps. Also, I just think it would look better without them.

Any other concerns I should be aware of? I have not had a chance to look at them up close yet. Do they bolt on? Any cutting involved?
