Do people around there normally leave that sh!t laying around, so much so they need signs? Along with broken egos and stick jeeps ound:

From my experience in the PNW, there is a lot of truth to that sign. The stuff I saw left behind was ridiculous. I understand ok doing some damage to the car, but at least pick up the plastic bumper covers, mirror pieces, etc, and not just leave there.

Sorry to thread jack, but how gnarly is La Dee? I've driven past it on my way to the National Forest but never hit the trails. My SR5 is on a 2.5" Bilstein lift and 285s, looking to start doing a bit of wheeling.

If anyone ever wants a novice at wheeling to go wheeling let me know! I want to learn.

Unfortunately yes. I've been to some places where people tend to really trash the land.

I have seen the following in my off-road travels...

• People just not cleaning up after themselves
• Burning trash instead of packing it out,
• Shooting things you are not supposed to shoot, including signs just like what the OP posted.
• Appliances with and without bullet holes.
• Broken glass from old TV or bottles
• Loads and loads of nails, which apparently comes from burning pallets and contributes to more holes in my tires than any other cause.

You name it... if someone can disrespect it, they will do it.

Then people complain when they want to close things down. :ybrick:

Frustrating right, yeah I mean we get it too but it is typically contained to certain areas, generally where people shoot. 70% are pretty good about picking up after themselves. I am not sure how the rest don't catch on. We have had sooo many amazing areas shutdown in the last 10 years. 30 years ago it was a free for all you could go anywhere in the state, hardly even locals had been and not see a soul or anything but turn of the century leftovers, not so much now.

Same with a few people I know say about the areas along the Olympic Peninsula and other places in the Cascades. When I lived there, many places we could go, now they say a lot of those have been closed off, with combination big metal pole gate and concrete blocks.

I noticed towards before I moved in the early 2000's, people started trashing the places up, up to out right using as a dump. We went out on a trail once and saw two junked cars seemed they towed out there and used as target practice, ridiculous.

Have not been there, but viewed on YouTube. Decided not to go. With sliders it may be OK. Turn in and take a careful look. I did that before giving up on Browns Camp.

Good wheeling -- If south of Tillamook is not to far on a Monday or Tuesday, Sand Lake dunes is a fun day. I plan to go after it reopens and after a week or more of no rain. Will try to get a neighbor with a Colorado ZR2 to go, and rent a quad nearby for my son.
