Silly Miata.

So... I was at a red light just kinda waiting there... like you're supposed to do at red lights. Anyway... some yahoo in a little red miata with his fart-sounding exhaust came up and decided to rev his engine... next to an SUV...I decided to humor him so when the light turned green I put the pedal down and ended up smoking him... it was only for about 1000' but I still kept ahead... I know this isn't too believable, and had I not been there, I wouldn't believe it myself... but it made me feel pretty good and I'm sure everyone behind us had a good laugh...

Miatas don't have very much punch off the line and I'm sure he knew that. So maybe he was goading you a bit, and you took the bait.:)
 
I dont think I could take a miata but I know that miatas now only come up to my wheel well with my good 7 inchs of lift

wouldnt be hard for me to ramp one
 
i like it when those kids in there rice burners pull up at a light and rev it up cars sound like crap too i really dont do anything but when the light changes i give them a taste of what a v6 can do

I was talking about a Miata. You're right, I-85 is pretty bad too. I usually take that route, part of the way, when I'm traveling to Tampa. It certainly keeps your attention on the road.
 
Why do people rev their engines, swerve in and out of traffic like it's Fast & Furious? Because they want attention. I just act like they aren't there. If they had real ballz, go to the drag strip. Most people on the highways just want to make it home safe.
 
i think it's funny when they do that and its wet and i have 4wd and they dont. One thing i dont like is that the 4runner tranny wont shift in to 4th in 4lo. My buddy's 5.9 4x4 ram will go at least 50 in 4lo. He smoked a trans am from stoplight to stoplight. or so he says.
 
50 in 4Low? I doubt it. My 4Runner won't beat very many things in Stoplight challanges. You might be able to get to 45 or so in 4low but it would take a while due to the gear ratios. Remember 4Lo is a slow climbing gear. I would think an engone or tranfer case would blow up though.

slow climbing gear huh? take a while huh? just push down on the gas pedal further and you'll get up to max speed real quick. It'll put you back in your seat, but only for a moment. Blow up huh? You dont put much faith in your toyota do ya?
35 was all i could get out of 4lo, but it wouldn't shift to 4th, probably designed that way. if you could get it to take 4th you could probably get 55 out of it.

my mistake. I don't know what to say about dodge 1/2 ton except torsion bars suck. but the 3/4 or 1 ton are bulletproof. a dodge diesel 4x4 will be my next vehicle.
 
haha thats a great story, the same thing happened to me and i was next to a 1993 or so honda civic ricer and we gunned it and as soon as we got across the intersection a cop in oncoming traffic spun around after us and proceeded to pull the honda over assuming i wasnt racing an suv and the other guys exhaust sounded nasty, probably what he was ticketed for.

here in raleigh cops can ticket people under an offense: Accelerating too fast for an officers taste.:awais:

That's rediculous your not supposed to exceed about 10-15 miles per hour while in 4lo!!!:bash:

Or at least thats what it says in the owners manuel!
 
This guy I work with drives a 4.0L 2002 Rord Ranger. He was always talking trash about imports and how underpowered they are. So I drag raced him side by side and smoked him. Then we went 4wheelin. That's where I really whooped his ass.


P.s. I hate Fords more than anything

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm sure that added ~150hp, he/she was very intimidating.
