Silly question...

Gawd I feel silly asking this question, but I guess there is never a stupid question. If there were, this would probably take the cake.

When you bought your 4Runner, did it come with a plastic sticker film over the Range/Mileage/Average Speed display? I was detailing the car and somehow I scratched the LCD. I was pissed at myself and then noticed that it was just a plastic film over the LCD. I peeled off the film and now the LCD display looks much clearer.

Just curious if you guys knew about the film...

Yup, I still have the film over my JBL Synthesis speaker badges as well. I figure i'll keep it on until it's noticeably bubbled or something.

I too didn't know until a bubble developed and my dad started scratching on it. I was kinda pissed that it was so fragile, that is, until I pointed it out to my sister and she pulled it off.

Mine didn't. I am pissed because it gets so dusty, and when I use my finger to wipe it off, there are always smudges!

I hate the dust on the displays-- after reading so many detailing posts about microfiber towels I tried them on the displays-- they clean up the dust without smudges or scratches-- sometimes you need a bit of water on the towel, but it seems to work really well.
