How much plastidip did you use (cans) for the badges and roof rails? Want to make sure I have enough before I start. If all goes well I'll probably do the valances like SilverTEP as well.

I used the overlays on the badges, I got yes for dirt cheap on eBay right after I got the truck.

I used vinyl for the roof bars as well, sorry.

The only piece I dipped was the front valance, I did 6 coats and it was still less than a full can.

I would say grab 2 cans to be safe but I’m pretty confident 1 can is enough for the badges and bars. The badges take little to none at all.

Watching this got me homesick all over again

Great video!!

What road is that?

Thats two different roads, in two different states. The top photo is on a 4wd track in Great Smokey Mountain National Park that leads to Harrell’s Cemetary.

The second photo is from North Georgia and was on the western part of the Georgia Traverse. Im not sure of the exact road because I did not drop a pin when I shot the photo but it would be in Cherokee National Forrest I believe.

One week old. Haven't done anything to it aside from having the front windows tinted to match the back ones.

That is one spectacular looking image imo. I love how it appears to be almost like artisan pewter with that perfect amount of mud patterned over it.

Then again, I am reminded of Phoebe Cates whenever I see rain run down mine. Yeah, I'm kind of a weirdo.

Does anyone feel that the stock silver 4R is just too much of the same color? I guess that applies to any color they come in, but I'm mainly interested in silver so that's why I ask. I just saw a new freshly washed black one at the dealer last week and it was stunning to look at, but silver is sooooo much easier to keep looking clean.

What feels like many years ago, there were accent colors on cars, whether it was chrome bumpers, different colored door handles, or whatever. Now almost every square inch of a vehicle is the same color. If I do get a silver 4R (TRD-OR), I feel like I'll need to add some accent color to it. I've never plasti-dipped anything before, but perhaps changing the bumper accent color to black, and maybe the rear spoiler and hood scoop insert.

Have any of you silver owners done anything like this?

I feel the same way, although I really like the clean look of silver as well as it's sensible properties.

I've been thinking of adding some lower body accents/protection myself, but haven't decided on anything just yet. Right now I'm leaning towards sating black vinyl with a short strip around the wheel arches, taller down the rocker panels, and covering the rear bumper. The front bumper/valance demands a little bit more planning and thought due to it's design.
I haven't even settled on the color though. I may like a darker grey or even something with some color to it. Now I'm gonna go look at some images on google for inspiration.
