anyone hear anything about the silver shift knob for the 4 runner? When you look at the 3d interior view on their webpage you can see a silver shift knob that is supposed to be offered in february. I wonder if this will be something we can buy from Toyota

I have been looking around on parts sites, and I can't find anything about it. All I saw was something about it on toyota webpage, but it just says it will be available in february.

I like it a lot. It is leather and silver. If you have a 4runner brochure you can see it on the sport edition page. It really looks good with all the silver accents.

All,

I've been thinking about one of these ever since I testdrove an '03 Limited but bought an '03 sport with the leather knob. I called my dealer last week and he said they could special order the knob for about $95. Definitely not cheap, but for someone like me who's been dreaming about holding that chrome since the day I first drove my runner....well hey, one of those choices I guess!!

They definitely do not feel cheap. It's a very nice looking addition to the interior and it feels great.

I don't have a digital camera so I can't take a pic. I think it is visible in the brochure at the dealer.

Hey Momo I just realized you are from Birmingham. How do like your spoert? I have had mine a week and am loving it.

Mine will be one year old this month and I have absolutely been loving it. Did you get yours from Hoover Toyota? What color did you get?

I have to take mine in this week to have the oil changed, so I will just have to check out the shift knob in one on the lot.

I ended up buying mine from Limbaugh. They beat the lowest price I could find. Are you doing 3000 or 5000 mile oil changes? The manual says 5000 but I have always done them at 3000.

I would have bought mine there, but Hoover had the exact one I wanted plus a little more, so I got it from them. It would have taken Limbaugh a couple of weeks to get one in the way I wanted it. I pretty much got the lighted running boards, leather and 18" wheels for free since it had been used at the Auto Show.

I have always done the 3000 on all my other cars, but have been doing the 5000 on this one. I don't really drive it hard, so I feel comfortable doing that way.

I may have to give the 5000 mile changes a try. That's great that you got all that stuff for free. Free stuff rules!

Not sure what the silver shifter knob you're talking about is, but I bought a chrome ball and put it on my 4wd shifter. I have a Hurst T-handle on my 5-speed stick. They deffinately look better than the leather originals.
