simple bed platform

a couple of weeks ago i built a bed kit for my runner with just a few parts from home depot and some scraps i had lying around. total cost was ~$100.
the height of the rear pipe is 11inches. and the front pipes were around 17. the plywood was 3/4 inch and had a finished top to avoid splinters.
i used a single sheet and cut it around 5'10-5'11. this gave the drivers seat the ability to still recline some.

All in all it is really comfy and tons of storage space under bed.
it is a little cramped when on the bed but its just for sleeping or relaxing in the back with a book/computer.
i use plastic bins to store things and they work great. enjoy!

i also added some reflectix bubble stuff into the windows to provide privacy and keep the heat out.

sorry for the huge photos!

Looks great .. I want to do this mod now.

Why the differences in height 11 vs. 17".

I think if I end up doing it I will try and go for 8" or whatever is the top of the wheel well.

height of poles

the front pole sits in the foot area of the rear seats and it is lower than the cargo area floor. that is why the difference.
i wanted the poles all the way out to the edge to give support when getting in or out.
