Simple custom box pics

Just thougt I would share how I did the sub in my 00 4R... The vinyl actually matches better than the pictures show. It was some left on a roll laying around my shop so I used it instead of ordering some for now because I don't plan on keeping this setup long.....But anyway its a 12w7 w/ a 500/1 powering it. Pioneer Premier 860 is the head unit but I didn't take pictures of it.

Any chance you could post the dimensions of that box? I have a couple w7's lying around waiting for a way to incorporate them into my runner, and your box looks great!

which w7 do you have laying around?

I'm selling the setup I have and doing 2 8w7s.

I'm pretty sure the box is 16.5 x12.75 x 12.5 on the inside... which is basically the exact airspace that JL reccommends for a 12w7. So if you were to use 3/4" MDF with a 1" mounting side you'd be 18 x 14.25 x 14.25....

You'll want to make your mounting side an inch thick rather than the 3/4". I found that out the hard way when I first built a box for a w7 about 2 years ago and it ripped the 3/4" apart. You can just double it up if you want as well and make it 1.5" thick on the side you mount the sub.

Ive got 2 10W7's. So the box you have wouldn't quite work for me.
