Siphon Gas... 2007 4runner

I have a 2007 Toyota 4runner. 6 cylinder 4x4

No, I am not looking to steal gas! :0)

I have a generator and I was wondering if it is possible to siphon gas from my 4runner into a gas container? Then to be transferred to my generator....

Is this possible? Has anyone done this?

I would really hate to damage any control valves or filters that may be in the tube to the tank.

Mechanical knowledge: Very low

Any info would be appreciated..

No, there is a metallic screen to prevent people from doing this.
