Siren instead of horn (newbie question)

Sorry guys i've searched but unfortunately i just couldn't get the input i needed... here's my question

i have a 2006 4runner sr5 and one of the optional equipment that i've added was the alarm for it (Pursuit pro 9232a by audiovox) installed by dealer... like most of the people here, i hate the horn honking all the the time (got rid of that though by pressing the valet button 3 times, so now it doesn't honk the horn whenever i arm/disarm... now i am trying figure out how to put a siren instead of the horn sound, is there any way i could disable that horn and put the siren? or even just putting a siren itself? do i need to go to the brain and locate a wire or something? or is there a wire that's already out there somewhere on my engine bay? Thanks guys i appreciate any info...

u have to cut the horn wire that is hooked up to ur alarm brain, usually if u rread ur manual , the install one, they tell u the wires and where it goes to. u dont want ur horn to go off wit the siren? then u juss have to cut the wire thats hook to it, otherwise u can always wire up a lil switch so u can turn it on or off with out any wire cutting

Thanks for the info... i was reading the install manual and found the wire for the siren, the sad thing is.. the wire was cut (very little piece of wire left)... so i had to move on, then i went to the dealer last sat. just to ask of it was possible for them to put on a siren instead of the horn honking (they said they can't do it, they only do horn and the piezo) and told me to go to a shop that would be able to put a siren for me, i know the alarm came with the siren but yet they didn't put it. So for now i'm probably just sticking with what i have... my wife drives the car neways... sorry for the short story guys but thanks for the info... appreciate it. :biggrin2:
