Sirius (OEM) Available for 2006 T4R with Factory Nav?

Is the Sirius sattelite radio receiver available yet from Toyota that is made specifically for a 2006 4runner with factory nav? I can't seem to get a straight answer from any of the dealers in my area. Some say it is available, some say it isn't and some recommend getting an aftermarket receiver. I am only interested in the factory fully integrated style.

And if anyone has it, can you operate the Sirius radio features via the touchscreen or voice?

I just got the Sirius install kit for my new 06 Limited, got it a the local Toyota dealer. The only problem I see is the antenna is a crappy looking triangle thing that installs on the inside of the windshield, I read somewhere that you can get a roof mounted one for this kit. I have not yet got it installed but planning to soon.

I think the SCION XB fit kit has an external antenna...otherwise you can probably get one from BestBuy/CC or Crutchfield.

Can some one tell me exactly where this weird antenna goes, it came in the factory Sirius fit kit, with no instructions.

Yikes! I am not looking forward to having one of those monsters alone with me in my new 4runner.

I had XM in my last 4runner and the antenna had a footprint of about 1" square. The installer placed it where the dash meets the windshield on the passenger side. The kit recommended that the antenna be placed outside, but the installer said that they worked fine inside the windshield and he was right.

Maybe there are other antenna options for Sirius.

That horrid thing is supposed to be mounted on the windshield right behind the rearview mirror...

Toss it and pick up one of the roofmount antennes from best buy, radio shack, etc... They are smaller and mount on the roof magnetically.

that's what I did when I installed my OEM Sirius receiver.

He probably did this because if you follow the Toyota install instructions it takes considerably longer to install the XM with the antenna properly routed to rear roof area, as you have to dissassemble most of the interior trim on the passenger side of the truck.

The instructions are in the Toyota Information System. Your dealer should be able to print them out for you, or you can access them (for a fee) at http://techinfo.toyota.com under the accessory install heading for your model. I think I have a soft copy of the install instructions on my home PC. Drop me a PM if you need them.
