size difference between different manuf of 285/75 tires

I used to have a 4wp big catelog and it showed the actual measurments of different brands of tires in the same size. I.E. 31" BFG M/T's measured out to 30.11", Wrangler MTR's measured out to 30.8" and so on (these arent the actual measurments, but you get the idea).

I may be looking at 285/75's and am not loyal to any brand. Is there anyway to find out what the actual measurments are of all 285/75's? I would be looking for the smallest, specifically skinniest 285/75 to reduce rubbing issues.

don't mean to sound rude, but why not just look for a skinnier tire, like a 275 or 265? I don't know of any way to see all the tire brands in the world and their sizes on one website. You will probably have to look up each brand separately to find out the actually measurements.

Every manufacturer website lists the size of their tires.

All 285's though are going to be the same width I think.

If you want skinnier go with 255/85-16 like some of the other guys here have done.

On paper yes, but in the real world no. For example if you take a 31" tire in BFG, Goodyear, Toyo, Cooper, etc and line them up there will be a slight variation in size.

For 285's it may no be much, but it might make a difference on rubbing the UCA, or ???

I am considering 255/85's, but I think they would be a little too stiff for my liking as the only come in a E rating?

I already have 265/75's but look a little small with the OME lift I just put on.

Do you have any issues with rubbing and if so how bad is it.

I've go 06' Tundra TRD wheels and I would like to keep them. I dont know what the offset is, but the currently clear 265/75's and are not close to rubbing.

Yes I have 285/75R16 BFG's on stock rims. No body lift or wheel spacers, just 2.5" inch spacers in the front and OME 890's in the rear. I did pound the pinch weld flat on the inside of the fender, thats really the only place they rubbed. They do still rub on the frame at full lock though, not much, and not a big deal to me. You may have to trim the front bumper too, not really sure as I have a different bumper on mine.

You can always have the tire shop test fit tires for you, some will do that so you can see where and how much they will rub.

EDIT: by the way, as just an FYI most tire fitment issues are related the tire width more often than the height. Thats why a lot of guys will run the 255/85R16 tires as they are 33" tall but only 10" wide, unlike a 285/75/16 which is also about 33" tall and almost 12" wide. And if you don't know 285=width 75=height and 16=wheel diameter
