Skids that work with Koyo Aluminum Radiator

Long story short. I installed a Koyo all aluminum radiator in my 4runner. The RCi skid does not work well with this radiator. I had to cut the skid and push it all the way forward to be able to have no contact.

Just looking for what skids everyone is running that will clear the all aluminum radiator.

Yikes! That's too close for comfort. I hope for your sake that the skid doesn't contact the radiator at it rear most position. If so, get ready for an unpleasant surprise when you actually have to use your skid and hit something solid. If that's the case, then, say goodbye to that radiator.

This is something to think about. I know I was considering the aluminum Koyo radiator when I was looking last. That it was different dimensions and skipped the trans fluid portion made me want to delay my decision. I already have a separate trans cooler. I am running the boxyer (yeah, that's a word) Savage skid plates. That might work, but I'd still want to make sure that the rear most position would not contact the bottom of the radiator.

That's interesting. I too have the koyo radiator (love it). I just hope the savage skids clear as that's what I'll be going with. But I do have a 1" body lift.

Edit to add: something doesn't jive here. The corner of the rad doesn't clear. Then the whole of the koyo should not clear as the bottom tank is the same from one side to another.

So the pipe connector was the first to hit. Upon further inspection. It his all the way across in the mid position on the skids. I’m selling the skids and will be giving Shrockworks a try. From what I hear the Savage one should clear.
