Slidders Install

I have a question regading rock slidders:

Do all slidders require to be bolted (drilling on the frame) on and/or welded on to the frame? If so, what does that do with the warranty?

I have a 2004 4Runner Sport. Thanks.

The purpose of the sliders is to protect the rocker panels of the truck, so the preferred method of mounting would be to weld them on. If you bolt them on, you had better have a bunch of bolts holding them on if you are planning on doing some serious trail riding. I wouldn't think it would mess up your warranty unless you start cutting out parts of the frame or have been rerouting any wiring or something along those lines.

XREAS

The problem is if you look at where the XREAS suspension componenents are mounted - they are mounted to the OUTSIDE of the frame - interfering with where sliders would go.

I'd really to be able to find something that si very sturdy that can be bolted on around the XREAS.

If someone here knows of anyone who has a solution I'd like to see it.

You want sliders on your '04 Sport? Wow, you must be looking into doing some hardcore wheeling. My next mod will be a lift, then tires, and maybe some ARB bumber and a Mile Marker winch, THEN sliders.

You can either bolt or weld the sliders. Please do keep in mind that if you have xreas you'll have to work around the lines as they are mounted on the otter part of the ladder frame where you would normally mount your sliders. All the fabricator has to do is work around it.

No. Absolutely not. Warranty only gets voided only if the application you installed is the direct reason why the item in question is broken. Therefore as long as it doesn't interfere with anything you have nothing to worry about. A perfect example is this: if you change your radio (aftermarket) and suddenly your suspension falls apart, the dealer will replace/repair your suspension and not say your warranty is void on your suspension because the suspension fell apart due to the aftermarket radio. Get it?

If you want sliders, you're best bet is finding a local shop to make some sliders for you. If you want some that are pre-made, check out www.demello-offroad.com for some of their work. They have 4th gen 4runner sliders ready (non xreas) so give em a call/email. You can even ask if they can do a xreas version too.
