Sliders on and feeling smaller.. (pics)

So maybe it is just me and being use to not having the ol' running boards now but we welded on my siders the other day and well now I feel like the truck is much smaller / lower like I lost a few inches or something.. :wow2:

I kinda felt the same way. I'm not sure if it was just the look or how it felt to put my foot on the slider rather than the super extra large running boards.

Body lift! I know it won't help your sliders and just give you a bit of a gap but it will help prevent any rub that there might be and help you feel taller by having to jump into the truck and maybe use the sliders as a step.
Just an option

You did lose a few inches. But it's a few inches that you won't mind if it gets in a fight with a rock, so it's a good trade.

Like stated a body lift would make you feel a lot bigger than its looking now.

It's a little late now, but I angled my sliders up when I installed them so they sit much tighter up against the door sills/ rocker panels.

But a lower truck is better anyways IMO

@shootmymine i am not too much about body lifts. I want to keep center of gravity as low as possible.

I have them about a 1/4" from the pinch weld to allow a little flex in them. I could have notched the pinch welds to get it about a half inch higher but I didn't think about it at the time. :/

Must just be the angle of the picture. Either way, I think your truck looks great with the sliders! I'm lifted 3" front and 4" rear and I get people asking me if it's lifted. But oh well, I like how low it sits. The main reason I installed the lift was to get the awesome flex of the lc coils

I have been looking at the LC 7 maybe 7.5 wraps but I don't necessarily want to spend the $ on some new shocks, panhard bar and brake lines for the back and then if I did that the front would be too short and I would want some Icons.. lol It never ends. At least my wife understands I will NEVER be done.

A 1" body lift is not going to affect the CG - measurable, yes, dramatic, no.
If you had done a body lift first, you'd have been able to weld the sliders up higher on the frame rails to begin with, reducing your perception of smaller....

My '97 as it still sits today - 1" BL, '99 springs, 33's. Good enough to get anywhere I've wanted to go.

That's the shortest 2.5/3" lift I've ever seen... but could be camera perspective. Get a little taller profile tire and you'll fill the space in.

I have some before measurement pictures, I am going to have to get the ol tape measure out tonight to see if I am sagging. They shouldn't be though. They aren't even a year old. It would royally tick me off of they were :faint:
